Over the past two decades we have seen an increase in safety and health related issues occurring during law enforcement training.
This is largely due to the many recent changes in law enforcement firearms training techniques. Unfortunately many of these situations
result in ranges being closed due to injury, illness and a lack of understanding of why these types of incidents occur.
Many
incidents I have personally investigated were found to be avoidable if the range operators and range users understood the limitations
of the facilities they were utilizing, or had identified the safety or health hazard inherent in the activity they were engaged in.
